I think she rates very high in the female country singers hall of fame. My country hall of Fame.
The singing voice of Connie is straight and Simple. It matches country music very much.The country music was popular before in Japan. Some Japanese country singers played an active part, too. However, it has become only some lovers now.I like "AIN'T HAD NO LOVIN' "in this album most.These songs in this album let many people feel close friendship.
Many of the songs I remember from my early days of being a Country music fan. But for some reason I had never purchased any of her music, except what came in Christmas compilations. I always enjoyed Connie Smith's songs, and I feel that her voice is one of the best ever. Connie's songs are well-done with the sound that was prevalent on many Country recordings of the late 60s and early 70s. I finally decided to download the "Essentials" album. I was not disappointed. That combined with her voice and style make this collection a real winner. I'm glad it's available for a new generation to be introduced to the talent of Connie Smith.
I'm not sure why they didn't include it on this collection.In my opinion, Connie Smith is the greatest female County singer ever. If you buy it you won't regret it. This is a wonderful collection of original Connie Smith hits. Many people today aren't familiar with her music. Amazon (and not only Amazon) has music that has been re-recorded. I can't think of any other singer that captures the feeling, the depth, and the just plain wonderful voice that she has. Some things just can't be improved.From start to finish, this is a wonderful collection.
This is another collection of original hits. One song that should have been included is Tiny Blue Transistor Radio. Another collection you might want to try is Don Gibson RCA Country Legends. This is real country music, music the way it should be. They should re-release all her songs, and I'm sure that a new generation would make her a star. Be careful of songs that have been re-recorded. These shouldn't be sold, but if they are, there should be a notice that they aren't original.
she sings from deep within, like no other. this is the best representation of connie smith out there. she always has always been the best, and always will be. she is truly a legend. awesome collection
